Data Protection Notice
To participate in the event and matchmaking sessions of the ECOWAS Virtual Sustainable Energy Forum from 24 to 26 November 2020, participants need to register a profile on the event platform hosted on b2match. (For the data protection and privacy policy of b2match, please click here.)
The data shared in the participant profile will be processed by ‘the organisers’ of the event: the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), and GET.invest, a programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH; as well as the organisations that implement the event on behalf of the organisers, hereafter referred to as ‘the data processors’: CEFE International GmbH, and CONOSCOPE GmbH respectively. Please note that ECREEE is based in Cape Verde; data will thus also be processed outside the European Union.
The organiser and data processors will manage your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union. The information you are asked to complete is necessary to organise the event you will be attending, to confirm your registration by e-mail, to create your profile with which you can be chosen and choose to engage in matchmaking sessions with other participants, and to allow you to modify your registration. Without a registered profile, it is not possible to participate to the matchmaking sessions. Your published profile on the b2match platform can only be seen by other participants who have been invited to the event and have accepted to publish their profile as well. Contact details, i.e. your phone number and e-mail address, will not be accessible if you don’t decide to make them visible. By registering your profile, you consent to the processing of your personal data for the purpose described herein.
Your data will also be processed by the organiser and the data processors upon its legitimate interest: to conduct post-evaluation surveys after the event by e-mail or phone call, and to obtain general analytics about events implemented by the organiser. Your phone number will not be used for any other purpose. You are entitled to object to these processing operations. If you do not wish to be randomly contacted by phone, please send an email to info@get-invest.eu.
Your data will be stored until 30 September 2021. You can obtain written communication of your data from the organisers, as well as rectification, restriction of processing, and erasure, and where appropriate, portability of your data by emailing to info@get-invest.eu.
